Company Profile- Tennis Australia

Tennis Australia founded in 1904 is the governing body for the sport of tennis in Australia. In order to promote Tennis, they conduct many premier events such as Australian Open, The Davis Cup, Brisbane International and more. The Australian Open is one of the biggest events in tennis. There are only four Grand Slam events in the world and the two-week Australian Open is the first each year, kicking off the annual tennis calendar before players follow the circuit to the French Open, Wimbledon and US Open. 2019 Australian Open attracted, 793, 435 fans to Melbourne Park during the two weeks making it the best-attended tennis tournament in the world. Domestic TV broadcast reached 10.5 million viewers while international broadcast reached more than 900 million homes in 43 countries.

The challenge

Tennis Australia partner with event organisers all over the country for event logistics, event transport, catering, traffic management, hospitality facilities and much more, in order to create a world class guest experience for thousands of people during this event. When it comes to organising larger scale events with thousands of people and third party event organisers, event security entails far more than just dotting the venue with security personnel. The process is quite complex and requires extensive coordination. Tennis Australia reached out to Barcodes.com.au to help find a solution to give access to the thousands of logistics people to the various venues in order to help them in strengthening the security and to keep a record of who enters and leaves the premises.

The Solution

Barcodes.com.au implemented a solution using Brother RJ3150 mobile printers and labels to print short term passes embedded with QR codes. Each member who was involved in making this event a success needs to present this. Using the mobile printers as solution gave Tennis Australia the flexibility to print temporary passes on demand where and when they need them.

The benefits

  • Improved security
  • Provide greater visibility over the events
  • Enhanced event flexibility and control
  • On demand printing of passes
  • Increased operational Efficiency
  • Improve Officials Experience
  • Eliminated paper work and reduce human error
  • Cost effective and reliable solution
